The Hook and I

The Etobicoke Rugcrafters, The Hook and I exhibition is in the Art Space Connect and Founder Galleries from September 28 to October 16th.

The exhibition showcases work completed by the Etobicoke Rugcrafters, a branch of the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild and a Resident Group of  Neilson Park Creative Centre. Items on display include various rug hooking styles: traditional, primitive and modern.

Patience: a Space for Reflection and Thought

Patience: a Space for Reflection and Thought is a solo exhibition by Roger Sutcliffe of  hand-pulled prints.

The creations that will be exhibited are produced using a limited number of collagraph plates. Plates are developed including organic shapes and lines, and using found materials and recycled textiles. The final images trigger for him emotions and memories, and invite viewers to pause, reflect, and have their own visual and emotional response.

Opening reception is on Tuesday, September 27 from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Painting in Pixels: Contemporary Digital Artwork

Helaine Becker’s exhibition Painting in Pixels: Contemporary Digital Artwork is on display in the Emergence Gallery until  October 16.

Helaine’s current visual art process is entirely digital, i.e., painting on a computer. Her pieces are hand-painted using a stylus as my brush, and pixels as her paint.
