After a long winter and spring, children can enjoy their creative side by exploring their neighbourhood at Neilson Park Creative Centre’s (NPCC) in-person summer camps!

Unique weekly art themes will free your children’s creative imaginations. At the end of each session, campers can display their art in a special exhibition. Choose from 9 weeks of camp offerings for Juniors (Ages 5-8), Seniors (Ages 8-12), and our new Intermediate group (Ages 7-11). Here’s a colourful sampling of NPCC’s programming:

In Colour Smash, learn about colour through a series of hands-on and interactive activities. Experiment with colours while working on drawing and painting projects using pastels, watercolours, acrylic pour and more. Monday, July 5 to Friday, July 9, 2021.

Try Creative Exploration, using natural and recycled materials, create eco-friendly and sustainable art projects both indoors and outdoors! Make impressive pieces from excursions through Neilson Park. Collect twigs, branches, leaves and flowers to make stamps for printmaking and natural dyes. Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2021

What does your dinosaur look like? Find out in Animals camp. Campers can enter the animal world using art and creativity! From bugs and butterflies to dinosaurs and monsters, campers are encouraged to use all their senses to seek motivation around them and show their creativity through artmaking by using a wide variety of materials to push their imagination to the limit. Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23, 2021

Camps are listed in NPCC’s online catalogue and registration is now open.

If finances are an issue, Summer Camper Scholarships are available enabling families to provide an arts-focused camp experience for their child. The deadline for application is June 18, 2021. Spaces are limited and based on availability. If you have any questions, check our website or feel free to contact NPCC at 416-622-5294 or email programs@neilsonparkcreativecentre.com.

We are observing all governmental health and safety protocols and will keep you updated as new information becomes available. Every effort will be made to implement camps in-house. In the event of mandatory building closure, we will move all activities online and email parents a supply list. If camps must be moved online, full refunds will be available.

We look forward to welcoming back campers and sharing the experience with new campers this summer!
