Our Home, Our Communities is an art-based community engagement project exploring community members ideas of what makes a home: a place of shelter, protection, refuge, comfort, family and community. Community members hereafter called “Artists in the making” draw co-relations of their idea of homes with location, land and physical structures, as we center those conversations on their sense and experiences of community/ies and belonging in Toronto. Participants will use recycled food boxes and other mixed media materials to create and re-create home and ideas of it. The final creations will be part of a collective installation which will be exhibited at Cloverdale Common.

MUSE Arts is an artist-run Community Arts Organization engaging communities meaningfully and actively in hands-on, high quality arts education integrated to issues of Social Justice , community and peace building.

These workshops are all ages. Materials for crafting will be provided to participants. Participants may bring their own cardboard from cereal boxes or milk cartons if they wish.

All materials are provided at no cost.
