FABRICated Mail

November 8 to December 19, 2021

Location: Emergence Gallery

Presented by: Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild

FABRICated Mail is an exhibit of postcards made by members of the Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild and the participants of NPCC’s Embroidery Open Studio.

Each maker takes a different direction, pushing their creativity, discovering
new techniques and embellishing with different fabric, threads, beads and
other materials. Some postcards are completely embroidered and sewn
by hand, while other postcards explore different machine stitches.

The idea of fabric postcards came about so members could connect in
small groups (via Zoom) while they explored using what they had on hand
to create artwork that could be sent through the mail system.
See the samples of the FABRICated Mail postcards that went around the
world without envelopes – delighting the postal system workers and the
final recipients. Who doesn’t like to receive personalized mail!

These postcards may be mailed by Canada Post using a regular stamp.
Hand stamping of the FABRICated Mail postcard at the post office is
recommended.

The FABRICated Mail postcards are for sale at $10 each plus HST. Buy
one today and delight someone tomorrow! Ask at the front desk and we
will be happy to help you!
