Make layered surfaces and patterns using paint, paper and various tools. Digitize those elements in the ‘digital studio’ (using Adobe Photoshop), combining and layering with photography and other digitized visuals. Weaving for Beginners

In this eight week class, students will be introduced to hand weaving using a tabletop loom. Students will learn to dress the loom for weaving and create a comprehensive sampler covering basic four shaft patterns. Students will then plan and weave a simple scarf based on their learning. The class will begin with a focus on observation and learning to use basic tools of drawing, including: sighting for size and angle, negative space, understanding proportions, shape and foreshortening.
