Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild

The Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild (EQG) is one of the oldest quilting guilds in Canada. Since EQG was formed in 1975, the guild has grown to about 140 members and incorporates a wide range of interests and skill levels. Membership is open to people of all ages interested in any aspect of quilting.

EQG is one of the resident groups at Neilson Park Creative Centre and meets in Studio C. In non-Covid times we meet in a large bright and spacious studio in a beautiful park setting.

As well as monthly meetings, members enjoy a range of activities, including open studio time, educational workshops, annual exhibitions and biannual quilt shows. Members give back to the community through our comfort quilt program—every year we donate several hundred quilts and afghans to local charities. During the lockdown, we have continued to meet virtually, and have maintained a lively schedule of presentations and workshops to keep our members learning and perfecting techniques. We also meet more informally several times a week which helps to foster a connection with our fellow quilters—a community that is at the heart of our group, and to which we would like to welcome you.

Quilt guilds are enormous reservoirs of expertise; at EGQ there are many ways for members to share and learn. There is a chair in Studio C for you, so please …come create with us!
