Closures Series Image #2

Regardless of how the pandemic ends, things will never be the way they once were. There can be no return to “normal” and whatever normal we had in the past, was greatly fraught with the erasures of colonial and racial violence. My account of the pandemic begins with photographs of social distancing regulations enforced by the closure signs in public spaces. How does the unknown futurity of the pandemic render societal circumstances in a state of disarray? We can never undo nor erase the tragic events that have transpired; these artworks provide a way to remember the times of the pandemic as haunted by societal traumas that took place during the lockdown that will continue to haunt us.
