My passion is painting the world around me in bold and vivid colour. I’m drawn to nature, often painting the many shapes and forms I see and the play of light dancing on them to create unusual contrasts in colour. Over the years my painting style has oscillated between Impressionism and subjective abstract representation. I’ve been drawn to sketching and painting the female face and figure for many decades, focusing primarily on women of multi-ethnic backgrounds as we steer through our world of multiculturalism here in Canada. In this particular work, I envision my heritage reflected in glorious colour!
