filled and emptied again and again and again
John Priola, a professor at San Francisco Art Institute during my MFA studies, believed in describing work with three words. I’d always described my work with”fragmentation, rearrangement, reinterpretation”. This 2020/2021 photo collage/montage series is all about experiencing “fragmentation, rearrangement, reinterpretation”, courtesy of Covid-19 and a 2020 cancer diagnosis. What was never understood, what was never missed, and what was never imagined all came forward. Equity, labour, immigration, supply chain, climate change, healthcare, food precarity, justice. |
