Privilege
Created during the summer of 2020 when the Black Lives Matter Movement was in the headlines. This body form contrasts black and white, rich and poor, privilege and abuse. Wrists are chained together, yet the lock is open to start the process of healing and change.
Fertility
Fertility is a devastating problem for those who can’t conceive. In 2020, my daughter’s friend was on her 5th in vitro treatment and the outlook was grim. I created this piece to honour women struggling with fertility. Their biological clock is ticking and the window of time is limited. Found items in gold, silver, and bronze combined with recycled fabric adorn this body form.
