Island of Fire

Island of Fire is one in a series of landscape paintings originating from a canoe trip in Georgian Bay. This painting represents the dramatic contrasts within the land, the strength and power of the geology against the serenity of the water, the colour intensity of the rocks against the pastel skies, and the coolness of the air against the fire of the leaves.

In this oil painting, I use a semi-abstract approach by simplifying shapes and creating textures and designs to make it look like a collage.

Island of Time

Island of Time is one in a series of landscape paintings originating from a canoe trip in Georgian Bay. This painting represents the dramatic contrasts within the land, the strength and power of the geology against the serenity of the water, and the depth of the rocks against the pastel skies. The sunlight reveals textures carved by four billion years of wind and water.

In this oil painting, I use a semi-abstract approach by simplifying shapes and creating textures and designs to make it look like a collage.
