Consolation

Consolation is part of a series called Fresco. 2020 and 2021 are a time for a deep exploration of passing time and the state of our feelings. Consolation is an idea that remains open. The lines that section, cut and mix are said. They accentuate the fragmentation and transparency. The body is a motif, a landscape.

French artist in Toronto, painting mainly with oil, Sandrine explores the movement, the light and the fragmentation. She does not conceptualize before painting. She lets the gestures come into action, until the subject answers. She explores the existential human condition and femininity, a reflection on the idea of passing time, on transformation, temporality and life. Recently she investigates self-portrait through painting and photography.

Rest

The body gives its shape to the drape, folds, fallen and crumpled. Transparency and the unspoken show the fragility and intimacy of the two women. During this period the need to meet again, to touch each other, to be together is very strong. Rest is an illustration of this need and trust, of the possible abandonment near the loved one.
