About Pathways

Through song, storytelling, nature walks and slow art-making projects, participants will gain a sense of place. We live in a time of transforming and the intent of Pathways is to bring together distanced and diverse humans as they form roots together in the Etobicoke Ravine. The natural environment will provide artistic materials. Found materials will be deconstructed and intertwined to echo the existing, human-made pathways we take today, which merge with the trajectories taken by insects/ birds, animal-dung tunnels all interested by Indigenous Peoples’ paths.

Neilson Park Creative Centre is located in the heart of Neilson Park, serving as a hub for artistic expression in the midst of nature’s beauty. Surrounded by varied species of flora and fauna, parkland and the Etobicoke Ravine, we are constantly reminded of the responsibility we have to maintain a healthy green space for the community to enjoy. We have organized nature walks and storytelling workshops about the indigenous history of the land, educating and informing the community about the history and working towards sustainable goals, ensuring the longevity of this green space. By offering “Pathways” at Neilson Park, we are able to further our connection with the land and the community that surrounds us.
