This winter, the Etobicoke Quilters’ Guild suffered the tragic deaths of two of its members. As we mourned them and all the other Covid tragedies, we realized how the mental well being of every one of us has been struggling through the pandemic.

What could we do to heal ourselves and help others to heal?

We could create beautiful things! We could lift our spirits with colour and pattern, with thread, yarn, ink and paint, and then offer our efforts for sale – to lift the spirits of others and to benefit our community.

Proceeds of the Brighter Days Fundraiser will go towards supporting mental health right here where we live. Eighty-five percent of the proceeds will go to LOFT Community Services, an organization that helps people with mental health challenges. Fifteen percent of the proceeds will go to Neilson Park Creative Centre – supporting its efforts to engage our community in the uplifting power of the arts.
