The Colours of Korean Folk Art Exhibition

September 24 to October 12, 2024

Location:  Art Space Connect Gallery

Presented by: Minhwa Art Association of Canada

Reception: TBA

The Minhwa Art Association of Canada is a collective group for artists and art enthusiasts who focus on the Korean folk art style and period of “minhwa” which came from the Joseon Dynasty.

Minhwa is a unique and traditional art form that has its own processes and tools. For
instance, minhwa is painted on hanji rice paper instead of canvases, fine ink brushes are used instead of regular paint brushes, and they paint with coloured powder pigments instead of acrylic paints.
