In many cultures, mythologies are an inherent part of artistic expression. During this 8-week class, participants will learn the ways in which artists have been acknowledging myths and traditional stories and tales in their practices. Artists such as Christi Belcourt will be discussed and used as inspiration, and an example of how an artist can utilize ideas and themes in their ongoing practice. Participants will then be encouraged to develop methodologies to incorporate their own mythologies.
