In this beginner Silk Painting workshop you will create and paint your own silk scarf. You will use a resist solution to draw lines and landscape, and then you will paint your design with special silk dyes to create luscious vibrant colours on silk. Come prepared with a design in mind, or we can offer a variety of designs for you to start your work. After painting, your silk creation needs to be dried and steamed for your piece to become stable and durable. The last hour of the class is used for this. A materials kit is to be purchased directly from the instructor on the day of the session, $20 per person no HST. Cash accepted. Kit includes silk, paint and other related supplies. Students are welcome to bring their own hairdryer to speed the drying process.
