Learn traditional and new techniques in Soft Pastels in this wide-ranging and experimental course. Through drawing exercises and projects using a variety of subject matter (still life, photo reference, etc), students will explore ways to use mixed media (acrylics, underpainting, layering, and more) as a foundation for pastels. Classes include demonstrations and discussions of technique, usage, and composition, as well as showcasing the work of traditional and contemporary artists, and class critiques.
