Learn how to capture the beauty of water in an Ontario scene using soft pastels.
Soft pastels are great for conveying the mood and atmosphere of a scene. Participants will explore their creativity and embrace the unique qualities of soft pastels: vibrant colors, immediate and easy application, texture, layering and blending. Maria will show how to create a beautiful pastel painting and will go through the several stages of the creative process. Various painting techniques will be demonstrated and practiced. Elements of a successful painting will be discussed and a step-by-step demonstration combined with a positive and constructive critique will follow. Individual attention will help participants to create at least one finished painting by the end of the day. Maria Iva is a signature member of the Pastel Artists Canada with a Master Pastelist designation.
