From ‘A’ to ‘Z’, originating as majuscules only in approximately 7th century BC in Italy, it has changed continually. Our exhibition showcases the rich variety of ways we represent our magical alphabet through a blend of artistic personalization and historical representation.

Our artist Mark Lurz uses browns with the grounding and delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee like Pantone’s colour of the year ‘Mocha Mousse’. For us, letters are intoxicating.

The Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto (CAGT) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for the continuing study of calligraphy, its history, cultural traditions, and applications for all ages.
