Rebecca Burgess’s commitment to sourcing her garments entirely within 150 miles of her home in California let to the establishment of Fibreshed, a local resource for creating and hand-processing organic fibre and natural dyes into clothing that is the epitome of the “slow fashion” movement.
Rebecca will speak to how models of local production can translate to farming and the harvesting of natural fibers and how that philosophy and practice is being taken up by fiber artists and their communities.
